North Carolina source: NC DEQ Septage Firm list 07.20.2026. South Carolina source: SCDES OSWW Contractors — Pumpers layer. Oklahoma source: Oklahoma DEQ Active Septage Pumpers and Transporters. Tennessee source: TDEC DataViewer Active Pumpers and Installers. Mississippi source: Mississippi State Department of Health certified pumpers. Georgia source: Georgia DPH Certified Installer and Pumper Companies list. Alabama source: Alabama Onsite Wastewater Board licensed pumpers. Florida source: Florida active registered and master septic tank contractors. Louisiana source: Louisiana DEQ Approved Sewage Sludge Transporters list. Arkansas source: Arkansas Department of Health onsite wastewater licensees. Where a state credential is shared with other trades, the NC, SC, OK, TN, LA and AR shortlists filter toward names that clearly identify septic work; Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama and Florida publish every current credential holder and flag the ones whose name does not say septic. NC, SC and OK county groupings identify the firm or mapped address, and the MS, GA and FL counties and LA parishes are the business location. Tennessee and Alabama instead use the counties of operation each firm declares to its regulator — a stronger signal, but still not a guaranteed service area. Arkansas is the one state whose regulator publishes only a business town: we map that town to every possible county using Census and USGS place data. Georgia and Florida additionally require a county-issued septage permit that we do not check, and in Florida that county permit, not the state registration, is what allows a company to pump at all. Minnesota source: Minnesota Pollution Control Agency licensed SSTS maintainers — the only state here that publishes a licence number, status and expiry date for every business, so its cards carry all three. Wisconsin source: Wisconsin DNR septage hauling business licences, a DNR report that stamps its own run date of June 30, 2023 and has not been re-run since, which every Wisconsin page says up front. Iowa source: Iowa DNR licensed commercial septic tank cleaners — Iowa rules say a septic tank may be pumped only by a licensed commercial septic tank cleaner, and the DNR publishes that roster already sorted by county. Michigan source: Michigan EGLE licensed septage waste servicers — the only state here that licenses the business and every tank truck separately, so its cards carry both the licence number and the count of EGLE-sealed vehicles behind it, and its directory stamps its own refresh date of September 4, 2026. Oregon source: Oregon DEQ licensed Sewage Disposal Service pumper businesses — DEQ licenses installers and pumpers separately, so only its Pumper and Installer/Pumper licences appear here, and it publishes an expiry date for every one. Oregon is the second state, after Arkansas, whose regulator publishes no county: we map each business address to a county using Census place data, and a listing whose ZIP spans a county line appears on every possible county page. Nebraska source: Nebraska DWEE certified Onsite Wastewater Treatment pumper businesses — the state certifies people rather than companies and lists a business because it employs a certified professional, and it draws a distinction worth knowing: a certified Pumper empties tanks, while Pump Installation is water-well work. Only Pumper-certified businesses appear here. Pennsylvania source: Pennsylvania DEP Active Residential Septage Haulers — the Solid Waste Management Act requires anyone who pumps a septic tank to register with DEP, and the Active workbook is dated April 17, 2024, which every Pennsylvania page says up front. Rhode Island source: Rhode Island DEM Permitted Septage Waste Transporters — DEM's septage transporter permit is the credential for pumping a tank, and the PDF is dated July 16, 2025. Maine source: Maine DEP Active Non-Haz Transporters (Category C) — Category C is the septage-and-holding-tank licence, the PDF is dated September 1, 2026, and DEP publishes a city rather than a county. Vermont source: Vermont ANR Permitted Solid Waste Transporters (residual waste) — residual waste (R) is the septage-hauling credential, ANR publishes a town rather than a county, and the list was checked September 6, 2026. North Dakota source: North Dakota DEQ Annual Active Sanitary Pumper List — a sanitary pumper permit is required to service a septic tank, Class I and Class II both may pump, DEQ publishes the business county itself, and the PDF is dated July 23, 2026. Delaware source: Delaware DNREC licensed on-site wastewater licensees (Class F, Liquid Waste) — Class F is the licence that may pump a tank, DNREC licenses the person rather than the firm, and the register was refreshed August 31, 2026. Idaho source: Idaho DEQ Permitted Septic Tank Pumpers List — a health-district pumper permit is required to pump a tank, the permit is valid statewide, DEQ compiles the list, and the PDF is dated July 2026. California source: California county environmental health liquid waste pumper registers — California has no statewide pumper licence, so these first directories use the permits issued by each covered county's health authority. Ask whether a firm serves your address and always re-check status with the relevant authority before hiring.
