How this directory is built

Arkansas licenses the exact trade this directory is about. Of 1501 licensees on the ADH onsite wastewater roster, only the 102 holding a septic tank cleaner truck licence may pump a tank; advanced installers, designated representatives, monitoring personnel and tank manufacturers hold separate licences and cannot. 15 of those cleaner licences give an out-of-state address. We also hold 23 Arkansas rows whose names clearly identify boats, marinas, marine sewage, portable toilets, or potty service without also naming septic. The remaining 64 licences produce 64 listings grouped by exact name and phone.

One caveat specific to Arkansas. ADH publishes each licensee's business town but no county. We map each town to every county it occupies using US Census place-and-county data, falling back to USGS place names for small unincorporated communities. When a town crosses a county line, its listings appear on every possible county page because ADH does not publish enough address detail to select one. This is not a service area, and omission from a county is not a claim that nobody will travel there.

6 listings use towns that straddle a county line; their cards say so and name both counties. A cleaner truck licence is the pumping credential, but many Arkansas holders are listed under a person's name rather than a business name — 35 of 64 say septic. Ambiguous names carry a note asking you to confirm household septic work first; clearly marine- or portable-only names are not published. ADH publishes no licence number and no expiration date, so neither appears on a card.
