How this directory is built

Under 7 Del. Admin. Code 7101, DNREC licenses eight on-site wastewater trades, and only Class F (Liquid Waste) allows pumping out the contents of a septic tank. Of the 611 approved licensees on DNREC's register, 259 hold Class F; the other 352 design, build, evaluate or inspect systems and are excluded here.

Delaware licenses the person, not the firm. A company appears on the register once per qualified employee, so those 259 licences are grouped back into the 59 businesses you would actually call, keeping every licence number. 29 of them hold more than one.

Class F is Delaware's septic pumping credential, so nothing is filtered out by name — but portable-toilet, plumbing and grease-trap firms hold it too, so the 43 businesses whose name does not say septic or sanitation carry a note asking you to confirm household work first.

DNREC publishes no county. It publishes the company address, and each city and ZIP is mapped to a county using Census place and ZIP data. Clayton, Milford and Smyrna each cross a county line, so the 8 businesses in them appear on each county they span and say so on the card. A business county is never a service area: a Class F licence is a state licence.

28 businesses hold a Delaware Class F licence from an address in Maryland, Pennsylvania or New Jersey — they are fully licensed for Delaware work but have no Delaware county to sit under, so they are counted here and left off the county pages rather than assigned somewhere invented. 2 more are held because DNREC publishes no usable address for them.
