Read this before using the Florida pages
Florida does not publish a statewide list of septic pumpers. What it publishes is a list of registered septic tank contractors, and DEP is explicit that a registered contractor may pump a tank only with an active Septage Disposal Service Permit from the county health department. That permit is annual and county-issued, and no statewide list of it exists — so nothing in this directory evidences one. These pages tell you who is registered to do septic contracting work near you; the county health department tells you who may pump.
How this directory is built
Florida publishes two companion files from the same nightly export: the people currently registered as septic tank contractors, and the people who are not. We read both. Of 691 rows on the active file, 30 name people who also appear on the 1637-name not-currently-registered list. Those contradict each other and are held back rather than published either way. 3 more give an out-of-state business address.
Registrations expire every September 30, and the state's own file is inconsistent about them: 404 of the 582 businesses here carry an expiration date that has already passed while still sitting on the active list and staying off the not-registered list. We publish the state's date on every card and flag the ones that have passed, sorted after the 178 whose date is still in the future. A flag is not a finding that a registration lapsed — only that the published date has passed and you should check.
Florida registers people, not companies, so businesses are grouped by name and phone together — generic names repeat across unrelated firms. 408 of the 582 businesses name septic in their name; the rest carry a note asking you to confirm household septic work.
