How this directory is built
The Pennsylvania Solid Waste Management Act requires anyone who pumps a septic tank or hauls residential septage to register with DEP. DEP issues a transporter number that must be displayed on the sides and rear of every truck in three-inch contrasting letters. This directory is that Active register.
Of the 856 Active rows, 742 are filed under a Pennsylvania county. 112 are filed under DEP's out-of-state county code and are counted but have no Pennsylvania county page. The registration is Pennsylvania's septic pumping credential, so nothing is filtered out by name — but portable-toilet, plumbing and environmental firms hold it too, so the 463 businesses whose name does not say septic carry a note asking you to confirm household work first.
